Modular crude oil refineries are prefabricated processing plants designed to distill crude oil into a range of petroleum products, including naphtha, kerosene, diesel, residual fuel oil, and off-gas. Utilizing a crude distillation unit (CDU), these initial outputs can be further processed using secondary equipment like hydrotreating and reforming units to produce high-octane gasoline, aviation fuel, and low-sulfur diesel. Prefabricated Modular Refineries

Modularization allows us to prefabricate major refinery equipment on skid-mounted steel structures before shipment. This ensures prompt and efficient setup at your location to produce various fuels such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene, marine diesel oil, fuel oil, and liquefied petroleum gas. Modular refineries are custom built to clients specifications. Clients can choose to construct single train modular refineries from 500 bpd to 30,000 bpd. Multiple units can be designed and configured to increase the refinery’s throughput to 100,000 bpd or more and process multiple crudes.

Alternatively, clients may choose to increase their refinery’s throughput as their revenue and financial capabilities increases. Basic Engineering design study will be performed to determine the optimization and configuration strategy for their proposed refinery. Our design-build solution reduces construction schedule and cost to a fraction of the cost of constructing a traditional refinery and the timeframe required for the design-bid-build method.

Our portfolio of equipment includes: 

• Atmospheric Distillation Units – Refines crude oil into naphtha, kerosene, diesel, residuum, and off gas. 
• Vacuum Distillation Units – Separates the atmospheric tower bottoms from the atmospheric distillation units into multiple products. 
• Hydrodesulfurization Units – Removes sulfur compounds from distillate products. 
• Desalter Unit – Removes salt from the crude oil. The desalting is usually the first process in crude oil refining.

• Diesel Hydrotreater Units – Removes impurities like sulfur and nitrogen from diesel feed by utilizing catalysts and hydrogen, resulting in ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) production. 
• Kerosene Hydrotreater Units – Utilizes a catalytic process to eliminate sulfur from kerosene, producing jet fuel for aviation use. The refined product can also be used for residential fuel, industrial furnaces, and other fuel combustion purposes. 
• Catalytic Reformer Units – Produces high-octane gasoline. An isomerization unit can be added if necessary to achieve the target octane level for the gasoline product. 
• Isomerization Units – Converts lower octane naphtha to higher octane products.
• Hydrocracker Units – Boosts diesel production from heavier fuels. 
• Gas Processing Units – Reduces gas flaring and emission. Processes gas into LPG, cooking gas, heating appliances, and used industrially to generate electricity.
• Other process units may be required during the process equipment design phase depending on client’s project requirements.
